SYMPHONY IN THE PARK  On April 26, 2008 we held our annual SDSU concert at the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park.  The concert which raises funds for the SDSU School of Music and Dance earned approximately $23,000 for the scholarship fund.  It was estimated that about 500 people attended at least  part of the two hour program.

Matthew Garbutt conducted the SDSU Symphony Orchestra.

Maria Lozano provided a soprano solo.

 

 

Jackson Borges played the great Spreckles Organ for a solo and as accompaniment for the orchestra.

 

 

John Kizer, San Diego Kiwanis Foundation President presented a the proceeds from the concert to Dr. Joyce Gattas, Dean of the SDSU College of Prefessional Studies and Fine Arts.

Then the graduating students in the orchestra presented conductor Matthew Garbutt with a gift.
