Volunteers are needed to help the Dinner
Committee! Prez Ethel reminded everyone about the
off site meeting at the Ronald McDonald House on March 30th. Nolan
Spencer announced an interclub at National City at noon on
Wednesday, March 17. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the
founding of our Kiwanis Club. On September 14, 1920 the Kiwanis Club
of San Diego began its service to the San Diego community. We are
planning a 90th anniversary party on Mother's Day, May 9th at the
Mingei Museum in Balboa Park immediately following our annual SDSU
music concert at the Balboa Park Organ Pavilion. Our Kiwanis Club
will have exclusive use of the Mingei Museum from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
on May 9th. Please contact the Kiwanis office
if you can help out on the planning
committee to celebrate our anniversary. The San
Diego High School Key Club Faculty Advisor, Margie Himes, and four
officers of the key Club attended the meeting. Ryan Callan and Prez
Ethel welcomed two new members into our club. They are Tim and
Trevor Callan who join their brother Ryan Callan in the club.

Karina introduced
the speaker Joshua Hirschmiller of the Everybody cares Animal Rescue
organization. Joshua gave a very interesting presentation on the
problems in our community due to stray cats and dogs. He described
how his organization cares for feral cats with neutering and
adoption services.
